“Change the Narrative” Film Screening and Discussion

Thursday, October 19| 2 to 4 p.m. | Center for Business and Industry, Room C2-28, 1751 Callowhill Street

Nine CCP students worked intensively with media and support partners over a seven-month period to document their personal stories, with the intention of changing harmful mainstream narratives about women and poverty by using a women-led, bottom-up, intersectional approach that focuses on the power of lived experiences.

Join student participants and leaders from the organizations involved to view these stories, produced by Love Now Media, and for a discussion about their
varied lived experiences, the gender wealth gap, feminism, and advocacy work.

Refreshments will be served.

About the Change the Narrative Fellowship

WOMEN’S WAY partnered with the College’s Women's Outreach and Advocacy Center to guide students in in-depth learning and self-work to generate awareness of racial and gender inequities in economic opportunity and urge actions among the public and private sectors that will improve economic security in the Philadelphia region. Students selected for this fellowship received a $5,000 scholarship.
