One Book One Philadelphia Author: Quiara Alegría Hudes

Friday, April 1st | 12:40 p.m. - 2 p.m.  | Join us on Zoom

Community College of Philadelphia is excited to host author and West Philadelphia native Quiara Alegría Hudes for a special conversation about her new memoir, My Broken Language, which is also the 2022 Free Library of Philadelphia’s One Book, One Philadelphia selection.

Hudes won the Pulitzer Prize for her 2011 play, Water by the Spoonful, and co-wrote the Tony Award winning-musical and later film adaptation, In the Heights, with Lin-Manuel Miranda. She will sit down with Jeff Markovitz, associate professor of English, to discuss her new book, which recounts stories from her childhood and growing up in and around Philadelphia as she searched to discover her own voice. She will read from her memoir and answer audience questions.

The College invites all staff, faculty, and students to attend this special event
This event is co-sponsored by the Liberal Arts and Communications Pathway and International Fest. It is funded by Liberal Studies.
