Transfer guides are created and maintained to help students and staff make appropriate course and program choices. The guides show how the requirements for the appropriate Community College of Philadelphia associate degree transfer to the bachelor's institution. It is, however, possible for program requirements at Community College of Philadelphia or the transfer institution to change without advanced notice.
Students are advised to visit with a Community College of Philadelphia academic advisor or counselor for further assistance. To schedule an appointment with an academic advisor, login to MyCCP for the Starfish Connect appointment system, call 215-751-8777 or stop by BG-12 on Main Campus. General Information:
This transfer guide is developed in support of the dual admissions agreement between Community College of Philadelphia and La Salle University. It shows how the Associate in Arts (A.A.) in Liberal Arts at Community College of Philadelphia transfers to various Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) majors in the School of Arts and Sciences at La Salle University.
The majors identified as providing junior standing upon the completion of the A.A. in Liberal Arts are: American Studies, Art History, Communication, Economics, Economics and International Studies, English, Foreign Languages/Literature, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Religion, Social Work (see also specific social work guide), and Sociology.
Since the B.A. majors listed tend to have flexibility in regard to transfer of credit, completion of the A.A. in Liberal Arts as described in this guide leads to junior standing at La Salle University. It is recommended that students consult with a Community College of Philadelphia academic advisor or counselor, or admissions representative at La Salle University to determine appropriate coursework.
Students who earn the A.A. in Liberal Arts and who submit a dual admissions intent form for La Salle University qualify for the Core-to-Core agreement. La Salle University agrees to accept the General Education embedded in Community College of Philadelphia’s A.A. in Liberal Arts degree as meeting all the requirements of La Salle University’s undergraduate Core requirements except for REL 100: Religion Matters, which must be taken at La Salle University upon transfer.
