General Information:

This transfer guide is developed in support of the dual admissions agreement between Community College of Philadelphia and La Salle University. It shows how the Associate in Arts (A.A.) in Health Care Studies at Community College of Philadelphia transfers to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) at La Salle University and then shows remaining requirements at La Salle University. Completion of the A.A. as described in this guide leads to junior standing in the B.S.N. at La Salle University.

Students who earn the A.A. in Health Care Studies and who submit a dual admissions intent form for La Salle University qualify for the Core-to-Core agreement. La Salle University agrees to accept the General Education embedded in Community College of Philadelphia’s A.A. in Health Care Studies degree as meeting all the requirements of La Salle University’s undergraduate Core requirements except for REL 100: Religion Matters, which must be taken at La Salle University upon transfer.

Note, because clinical nursing courses at La Salle University start in the sophomore (2nd) year for native La Salle University students, it will take transfer students three years to complete the full-time nursing program. The part-time evening Achieve program also takes three years to complete.

Admissions into the nursing program requires a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and 3.0 cumulative science GPA. Additional Eligibility Requirements for La Salle University’s Nursing Program.
