General Information:

This guide outlines an agreement between Community College of Philadelphia’s Associate in Science (A.S.) in Engineering Science and the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering at Temple University. Completion of the A.S. in Engineering Science as described in this guide leads to junior standing for the B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Graduates of the A.S. in Engineering Science may qualify for the Gen Ed to Gen Ed agreement. To qualify students in this program must complete one additional humanities or social science course before transfer in addition to Community College of Philadelphia’sgeneral education (ENGL 101, ENGL 102, SOC 101 and one humanities elective). Visit Temple University General Education Requirement Options for a list of humanities and social science courses to satisfy the Gen Ed to Gen Ed requirements. If this extra course is completed before transfer, Temple University agrees to accept this General Education as meeting all the requirements of its undergraduate General Education requirements except for two writing intensive courses to be completed at Temple University.

Students who earn an A.S. in Engineering Science and do not complete the additional humanities or social science course before transfer will qualify for the 45 + Gen Ed in which the general education requirements are reduced. For details visit Temple University General Education Requirement Options.
