Another Emmy® Nomination for Drop the Mic

CCPTV is proud to announce that for the third year in a row, Drop the mic, the student spoken word competition, has been nominated for an Emmy® by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in the category of Entertainment - Program/Special. Other nominees in this category include NBC and WHYY. The winner will be announced at the award ceremony on September 9. 

Hosted by associate professor and well known spoken word poet, Michelle Myers, Drop the Mic, is a six-episode reality style competition featuring performances by the College's students. The judging and feedback is presented by Kevin Covington, DeForio Barlow, Elizabeth Catanese and Alisha Dantzler, all students of the College. The production crew, led by CCPTV producer, Allan Kobernick, includes the College's staff and students from the Digital Video Production Curriculum.

Season Four of Drop the Mic, in pre-production, will be recorded in October.
