The College’s Facilities department is diligently working on several initiatives that will enhance the safety and cleanliness of the College’s buildings as we prepare for more faculty, staff and students to return to campuses.
Air coils in the HVAC systems of the Mint, Bonnell and West buildings on Main Campus are being replaced for maximum heating and cooling efficiency, and optimum air flow. This project is expected to be completed by the middle of August. Different HVAC systems exist in the CBI, Winnet, Pavilion and Athletics Center buildings, and all of these systems are being evaluated for any maintenance work or repairs, as are the Regional Center HVAC systems.
Cleaning the ductwork in all buildings will also enhance system performance, and increase air purity and quality. Cleaning will start soon in the Mint, Bonnell and West buildings, with an estimated completion date of mid-August. Duct cleaning in the remaining Main Campus buildings, as well as at the Regional Centers, is scheduled to be finished by end of August, excluding the Athletics Center, which will be completed by early September. In total, this massive effort involves more than 1 million linear feet of ductwork.
The placement of acrylic dividers in spaces identified in a plan by our consultants, Pennoni, will start soon, and be finished by the end of August.
Facilities is also implementing additional safety and sanitation measures at the Main Campus and Regional Centers. Touchless water faucets are being installed, with a projected completion date of early September. Buildings will also feature an increased number of bottle filling stations instead of water fountains.
Facilities thanks you for your patience and understanding while these concurrent projects are underway.
