Please join College president Dr. Donald Guy Generals for a Fireside Chat to engage in a conversation recognizing Latine Heritage Month. Share reflections on your favorite book, poem, song or any artistic expression celebrating Latine history. All students, staff, and faculty are welcome to attend and bring a friend.

Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade

Celebrate Puerto Rican heritage through dance, music, poetry and more! The College is sponsoring this year’s parade and will have a booth at the parade.

Taste of Latine at the Regional Centers 

October 4 and 11 | 12p.m. | NERC, CATC/WERC

Join us on Wednesday, October 4 at the Northeast Regional Center and on Wednesday, October 11 at the West Regional Center/Career and Advanced Technology Center to celebrate Lantine heritage. 

As part of Latine Heritage Month, you’re invited to sample authentic Latine foods at the Northeast Regional Center. Food is an important part of Latine culture and history, so join us to try Latine-inspired dishes! Take a lunch break while enjoying some music, fun and fellowship. We hope to see you there!

Aye Caliente! Master Latin Music Percussion Clinic with Pablo Batista (National Disability Employment Awareness Month Honoree)

Tuesday, October 10 | 12 to 1 p.m. and 2:40 to 4:10 p.m.

Batista is a master percussionist who has performed, recorded, and toured internationally for 30 years with some of the biggest stars in rhythm and blues, jazz, Latin, pop, and gospel, including Alicia Keys, Patti Labelle, Kirk Franklin, Jill Scott, Gerald Levert, Jeffrey Osborne, Phyllis Hyman, Teddy Pendergrass, Diane Reeves, Norman Brown, Manny Oquendo and Libre, Eddie Palmieri, and Musiq.

  • 12 to 1 p.m. | Bonnell Lobby – Recgonizing the brave, the bold and the brilliant, our National Disability Employment Awareness Month honoree Pablo Batista will demonstrate how drumming has taken him around the world. Learn more about National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Start a Latin American Student Club

Interested in organizing a Latin American or other student club? We’ll tell you how! This is an opportunity to meet other students, get involved in the life of the College, and gain leadership skills. Get more information about officer and advisor requirements. 

  • 10 to 11 a.m. – Training is required before starting a club. Join us at 10 a.m. on Zoom
