Becoming Trauma Informed

Becoming Trauma-Informed

Julie Odell (English)

Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) affect students’ relationships, behavior, and ability to learn and succeed in reaching their goals, but we can make some simple changes in how we teach and interact with students that can help mitigate these effects and develop resilience. The Trauma-Informed Learning Community will meet four times this semester for stand-alone sessions on mindfulness practice, brain breaks,” caregiver fatigue, and how those working closely with students can take care of themselves.
