Faculty and staff gathered in the Winnet Student Life Building's Great Hall on Dec. 13 to celebrate the holidays at the Winter Frost Fest. The festive luncheon featured music, games and more. This annual event also provides us the opportunity to reflect on the commitment our employees have shown over the years to the College and our students during a special "celebrate our stars" portion of the event. Employees who have reached the milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 and 50 years of service at the College were recognized.
Around 80 alumni gathered in the Mint Building Rotunda on Nov. 30 to reconnect with the College and with classmates. The evening's guest speaker was Larry Thi, the director of Operations at the Lenfest Scholars Foundation. A former Jack Kent Cooke Scholar, Larry now works to support high-achieving students from rural south-central Pennsylvania in gaining admission to and thriving at the state and country's most selective universities. A Philadelphia native, Larry went on to complete degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Pennsylvania.
Enrollment in the College’s Tuition Payment Plan for Spring 2024 will be available ONLINE via the MyCCP portal beginning November 20, 2023. Enhancements include more payment options, financial aid and company billing included when calculating the payment schedule and the option to enroll in automatic payments. Students interested in enrolling can log onto MyCCP and select the Enroll in a/View Your Payment Plan link under the Financial Services channel. For more information about the Spring 2024 Tuition Payment Plan, select the Spring 2024 Payment Plan Information link under the Financial Services Channel.

On July 17, 2023, faculty and staff gathered to celebrate the retirements of three dedicated department heads, Dr. David Cattell, Physics; Chuck Herbert, Computer Technologies; and Dr. Barbara McLaughlin, Nursing. These colleagues have exhibited tireless commitment to our College, our students, and their colleagues.
Community College of Philadelphia no longer requires COVID-19 vaccines for students or employees except for the admission of students to certain Nursing and Allied Health programs. For more information on which Nursing and Allied Health Programs require COVID-19 vaccines, please contact your department head.
Students or employees who test positive for COVID-19 should stay home until their symptoms are resolved or for no less than 5 days, and continue masking for another five days (or until day 10 from the positive test). Students who test positive should inform their faculty members. Employees who test positive should inform their supervisors and Human Resources. Review the College's COVID-19 Leave Policy for additional details.

The Community College of Philadelphia Foundation hosted its annual Black & Gold Gala on June 7 at Vie. The gala is the Foundation’s signature fundraising event, which has raised more than $2 million to support student scholarships since 2018. Each year, the Black & Gold Gala recognizes the outstanding service of individuals and organizations in the City of Philadelphia that demonstrate involvement in community growth in the areas of education, business, social services, and health.
Our 2023 graduates were invited to spend an evening celebrating their success and connecting with fellow alumni at a special reception on May 10. Alumni enjoyed a beautiful evening enjoying Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments in the Library and Learning Commons Absalom Jones Courtyard.
Congratulations to the Class of 2023! You did it! The College community, family and friends gathered to celebrate our 2023 graduates at Community College of Philadelphia's 57th Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 6 at Temple University's Liacouras Center. The keynote speaker was Philadelphia Mayor James F. Kenney, who was presented with an honorary Associate in Letters degree. Graduates also heard from College President Dr. Donald “Guy” Generals, College Board of Trustees chair Harold T. Epps, provost and vice president for Academic and Student Success Dr. Alycia Marshall, and student speaker and Catto Scholar Jonathan Collins. The Class of 2023 includes approximately 1,540 graduates earning 1,618 degrees and certificates.
